SMX/TMP PO

Alternative Treatment

Doxycycline PO

  • Alternative treatment

  • OR for patients with sulfa allergy

OR

Clindamycin PO
  • For patients with sulfa allergy

AND

Cephalexin PO
  • For patients with sulfa allergy

OR

Vancomycin IV
  • If unable to tolerate PO

De-Escalation

Once susceptibilities are available, de-escalate to narrowest spectrum PO antibiotic

Duration

5 days of antibiotics following I & D
