Outpatient - Atypical Pneumonia

Preferred Regimen

Azithromycin 10 mg/kg on day 1, then 5 mg/kg/day on days 2-5

Alternative Regimen

7 years old or greater

Doxycycline 2-4 mg/kg/day PO/IV in 2 divided doses (max 100mg/dose)

For Suspected CA-MRSA

ADD

Vancomycin 60 mg/kg/day IV in 4 divided doses

OR

Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole 8-10 mg/kg/day TMP component in 2 divided doses (max 320 mg TMP/dose)
