Recommendations are for therapy of Endocarditis caused by Viridans Group Streptococci (VGS) and Streptococcus bovis.

Dosages recommended are for patients with normal renal function

Native Valve

Highly Penicillin-Susceptible Strains
(MIC less than or equal to 0.12 mcg/mL)

Penicillin Relatively Resistant Strain
(MIC between 0.12 and 0.5 mcg/mL)

Penicillin Resistant
(MIC more than or equal to 0.5 mcg/mL)
A.defectiva, Granulicatella spp

Prosthetic Valve

Penicillin-Susceptible Strain
(MIC less than or equal to 0.12 mcg/mL)

Penicillin Relatively or Fully Resistant Strain
