Duration of Therapy

3-5 days with close follow-up

Suggested Regimen

Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid 500 mg PO TID

Penicillin Allergy

Cefuroxime 500 mg PO BID

OR

Doxycycline 100 mg po BID

AND

Anaerobic coverage:

Metronidazole 500 mg PO BID
OR
Clindamycin 300-450 mg PO TID

Reassess Therapy on Day 3
