Severe + Drug Sensitive

First Line Treatment

Ceftriaxone 80-100 mg/kg/day for 10-14 days

OR

Cefotaxime 80-100 mg/kg/day for 10-14 days

Second Line Treatment

Amoxicillin 75-100 mg/kg/day for 14 days

OR

TMP-SMX 8 mg/kg/day for 14 days

OR

Chloramphenicol 50-75 mg/kg/day for 14-21 days
