Symptoms May Include

  • Minor rash

  • GI symptoms only

  • Family history of allergy

  • Record lists allergy, but patient or caregiver denies

Recommendations

Consider de-labelling after assessment without test dose if appropriate

OR

Use desired penicillin or 1st generation cephalosporin if treating or amoxicillin test dose if not currently needing antibiotics

OR

Use alternative agent based on appropriate coverage or contact ASP/ID¹
