Keep NPO. IVF to maintain hydration
Consider chest PT if atelectasis
If wheeze, consider albuterol – continue if PAS improves by ≥ 1
Consider HFNC if hypoventilation or hypoxemia despite regular NC
Consider heliox if persistent WOB and FiO2 ≤30%
Antibiotics: If patient has evidence of bacterial super- or co-infection or underlying medical problems placing them at higher risk for complications
Steroids: Not indicated
Deep suctioning: Not indicated
Oseltamivir*
*If influenza suspected/confirmed within 48hrs of symptom onset or if patient has underlying medical problems placing them at higher risk for complications
Discontinue monthly palivizumab prophylaxis if breakthrough RSV infection
