Double anaerobic coverage is the use of any combination of the above agents, which is prevalent at UCLA.

A common combination is piperacillin/tazobactam + metronidazole.

Redundant anaerobic coverage is a common problem intervened upon by the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program.
