5-7 days

Recommended regimen

Ceftriaxone 1g IV q24h
(can be given IM if no IV access)

AND

Metronidazole 500mg PO/IV q12h

Oral stepdown

Amoxicillin-clavulanate 500mg PO TID

Penicillin Allergy

Levofloxacin 750 mg PO/IV q24h

and

Metronidazole 500mg PO/IV q12h
