Thorough physical exam to find source of infection is critical

Remove central lines. PICC line should NOT be inserted until there is documented clearance of bacteremia

Echocardiogram: Recommended due to high risk of endocarditis ⁵ ⁶

  • Start with TTE

  • Consider TEE after discussion with echocardiographers
