It is very likely that the unknown pneumococcal vaccine the patient received was Pneumovax 23.
As such, give Prevnar 13 x 1 dose now
Advise the patient to obtain a second dose of Pneumovax 5 years after the first dose.
Notes 1. Patient is eligible for a free Pneumovax 23 at any pharmacy, public health unit or clinic administering vaccines 2. Revaccination with Pneumovax 23 is recommended every 10 years for patients ≥ 65 as immunity wanes in the elderly
