Recommendation W - PCV13, PPSV23 (delayed)

Advise the patient to obtain a dose of Pneumovax 23 ≥ 8 weeks later if they received the first dose BEFORE age 65. Otherwise a second dose is not due until 10 years after the first dose.

Notes
1. Revaccination with Pneumovax 23 is recommended every 10 years in patients aged 65 and over as immunity wanes
2. Patient is eligible for a free Pneumovax 23 at any pharmacy, public health unit or clinic administering vaccines
