Adolescent Alternative 1

First-Line Treatment

Zidovudine (AZT) 180-240 mg/m²/dose, twice per day (max: 300mg/dose)

Drug doses should be calculated according to body surface area

AND

Lamivudine (3TC) twice per day (max: 150mg/dose)

  • Age <30 days: 2 mg/kg/dose

  • Age >30 days: 4 mg/kg/dose

  • Weight >50kg: 150 mg/kg/dose

AND

Efavirenz (EFV) once per day (max: 600mg/dose)

  • Liquid: 19.5 mg/kg

  • Capsule/tablet: 15 mg/kg

Second-Line Treatment (If Failing First-Line Regimen)

ABC (or TDF) + 3TC (or FTC) + ATV/r (or LPV/r or DRV/r or DTG)

RAL + LPV/r
