If resources are available, virological testing at birth should be performed for all HIV exposed infants
HIV antibody tests should not be used
Consider conducting NAT
For virological testing, the following nucleic acid testing (NAT) assays are strongly recommended for use:
HIV DNA on Dried Blood Spot (DBS) test
HIV RNA on plasma or DBS
Positive NAT result
Negative NAT result
