Anaphylactic Reactions

Acute Management

  • IV 0,9% NaCl bolus if needed

  • Oxygen to keep sat ā‰„ 95%

PLUS

Epinephrine (AdrenalineĀ®)

  • 0.01 mg/kg/dose, MAX 0.5 mg IM q 5-10 minutes PRN
    (equals 0.01 mL/kg/dose, MAX 0.5 mL of 1 mg/mL) administered in outer mid-thigh

  • Call SPOT (if at CHEO) or 911 (if in an office setting) if two doses of epinephrine are needed
