Only these drugs are antipseudomonal:
BC has excellent activity with piperacillin-tazobactam and cefepime. The few isolates last year that were resistant to these agents were also resistant to quinolones. If true double coverage is indicated (septic shock patient at risk for MDRO Pseudomonas) tobramycin would be most likely to cover resistant isolates.
Cystic fibrosis exacerbations with Pseudomonas aeruginosa requiring IV antibiotics - treat with two antibiotics with different mechanisms of action.
