Bordetella pertussis
This is a vaccine preventable and notifiable disease. Please contact medical officer of health as contact tracing and post exposure prophylaxis needs to be considered.

Suggested regimen

Clarithromycin 7.5 mg/kg/24h PO BID x 7 days
Maximum: 500 mg/dose

OR

Azithromycin 10 mg/kg/dose PO daily x 5 days
Maximum: 500 mg/dose
