All adult patients
Strongly recommended for the following populations with high risk of influenza-related complications:
Pregnant women
People with chronic health conditions: cardiac or pulmonary disorders, diabetes, cancer, immune compromising conditions, renal disease, anemia or hemoglobinopathy, neurologic conditions, morbid obesity (BMI 40 kg/m2 or greater)
Residents of nursing homes and chronic care facilities
Age 65 years and older
Indigenous peoples
Patients who developed an anaphylactic reaction to a previous dose or any vaccine components (with the exception of egg), or who developed Guillain-Barre Syndrome within 6 weeks of influenza vaccination should not receive a further dose.
Egg-allergic individuals may be vaccinated using any appropriate product, irrespective of a past severe reaction to egg.
