Guidelines
Pathogens
Antimicrobials
Antibiotic selection should be further tailored to culture and susceptibility results. This includes de-escalating pyelonephritis or sepsis patients to oral therapy if susceptibility pattern and symptom resolution permits.
If unclear of choices (especially when pregnant, allergic or due to drug resistance) please consult your pharmacist, the antimicrobial stewardship team or infectious disease physician.
Avoid using the same antibiotic if recurrent UTI within 3 months.
Patients with urogenital abnormalities will need 10 -14 days of treatment.
