Single Room:

• Yes, with negative air flow and door closed

Duration of Precautions:

• Continue precautions until all vesicles have crusted and for at least five days.

Comments:

• Reportable Disease

• Notify Infection Control

• Neonates born to mothers with active varicella should be isolated at birth.

• Only immune staff should enter the room.
