Intravenous Antibiotic Prophylaxis (IAP) is indicated at the onset of labour or rupture of membranes in the following settings:
1. Positive screening culture for GBS from vaginal/rectal swab
2. Positive history of birth of an infant with early-onset GBS disease
3. GBS bacteriuria during the current pregnancy
4. Unknown antepartum GBS status plus any of the following intrapartum risk factors in current pregnancy:
Intrapartum fever (greater than or equal to 100.4°F or 38°C)
Preterm labour (less than 37 weeks of gestation)
Prolonged rupture of membranes (greater than or equal to 18 hours)
