Formal risk classification may be performed using the Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) scoring system at the time of presentation.
No or mild symptoms
Moderate symptoms
No hypotension (SBP >90 mmHg)
No COPD
Solid tumor or hematologic malignancy with no previous fungal infection
No dehydration requiring parenteral fluids
Outpatient status at onset of fever
Age less than 60 years
