Delayed Mild Rash

Onset

More than 24-72 hours

Clinical Reaction

Mild-moderate non-pruritic rash without fever and without involvement of internal organs or mucous membranes

Management

May use the same ß-lactam or a ß-lactam from a DIFFERENT class with different side chain

  • Non-pruitic morbilliform and maculopapular rash (which occurs in 3-7% of children that take amoxicillin) is not a contraindication to taking the antibiotic again
