Cefepime is non-formulary at MSH.
Broad spectrum antimicrobial with gram positive and gram negative coverage including Pseudomonas.
Used especially nosocomial infections involving resistant organisms.
Allergy (immediate & delayed)
Positive Coombs
Cytopenias
Non-convulsive status epilepticus (resolves with discontinuation of cefepime)
Elevated liver function tests
Prolonged PT/PTT
Infusion related reactions, including red man syndrome have been reported
