Redosing Intervals

Intra-operative redosing may be required in prolonged procedures to ensure adequate serum and tissue concentrations or if there is excessive blood loss (>1500mL) during the procedure.

Redosing intervals should be measured from the pre-operative dose, not from the start of the procedure.

Repeat intraoperative dosing is warranted for procedures exceeding 2 half-lives of the antimicrobial.
