Patient’s Pneumococcal vaccine status is up to date.
Advise the patient to obtain another dose of Pneumovax 23 once they turn 65, or 5 years after the first dose, whichever is LATER
Notes 1. Revaccination with Pneumovax 23 is recommended every 10 years thereafter for patients 65 and older as immunity wanes in the elderly 2. Patient is eligible for a free Pneumovax 23 at any pharmacy, public health unit or clinic administering vaccines
