Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid 875 mg PO BID or 500mg PO TID x 5 days
Clindamycin 300-600mg PO QID x 5 days
AND
Ciprofloxacin 500mg PO BID x 5 days
Consider Infectious Disease consult.
Consider surgical specialist consultation as appropriate - debridement may be required.
Human bites can potentially spread blood-borne infections such as viral hepatitis and HIV.
Consider need for HepB immunoglobulin/vaccination and HIV post-exposure prophylaxis, which are coordinated through the Medical Officer of Health.
