Usually associated with dog bite or other close contact.
Normal flora of canines.
Skin/soft tissue infection
Necrotizing Fasciitis
Bacteremia
Meningitis
More severe infections tend to occur in splenectomized patients, alcoholics, and immunosuppressed patients
~1/3 patients with bacteremia will have a rash that can progress to purpura fulminans.
