In cases of gas gangrene or necrotizing fasciitis, prompt surgical debridement is critical. Strongly consider consultation with Surgery and Infectious Diseases. Combination of penicillin and clindamycin should be considered in patients with necrotizing fasciitis or clostridial myonecrosis.
