Cefazolin is often used in treatment for skin and soft tissue infections, providing coverage for MSSA and beta-hemolytic Streptococcus spp.
Cefazolin is also used in treatment of deep space, invasive infections such as osteomyelitis and infective endocarditis, secondary to MSSA.
Allergy/rash
Cefazolin can be associated with a positive Coombs test, cytopenias, as well as hepatic and renal laboratory abnormalities.
