Most infections are self-limiting and require no intervention other than supportive care. However, antibiotic therapy may be used in immunocomprimised patients, patients with severe and persistent infection or patients with extraintestinal infections.
Fluoroquinolones are often considered for Campylobacter infections, but with increasing resistance, macrolides are now the drug of choice.
